Radiator Flush Service in Fremont, CA
Our Fremont auto repair shop offers radiator flush service for residents of Fremont, Newark, and Union City. We remove the old coolant, clean out the system with a special cleaning solution, and finally refill the system with the new coolant.
A radiator fluid flush is necessary to replace the old coolant and anti-freeze mixture in the cooling system. When we pump cleaning solution through the system, it also removes scale and rust particles, and other contaminants. They tend to degrade cooling system performance, so occasional coolant flush serves to improve the overall performance of the cooling system, and slows down its deterioration due to age and use. New coolant generates less foam, further improving cooling performance, and its improved lubricating properties are beneficial for the water pump as well. We recommend the first flush at 100,000 miles, and subsequently every 60,000 miles.
Radiator coolant flush is performed in 3 stages:
Stage 1: we remove radiator cap and drain plug, and drain old mixture into a container and dispose of the old coolant in an environmentally friendly manner
Stage 2: replace radiator drain plug, and we can now fill the radiator with the cleaning solution, start the engine and let cleaning solution circulate through the cooling system, then switch the engine off and let it cool down
Stage 3: drain the cleaning solution, and replace it with the correct (as specified by the manufacturer) fresh coolant. Then test the system to make sure everything works as it should.
If your vehicle’s engine overheats or the water pump brakes down, you could be stranded on the side of the road. Radiator coolant flush keeps the cooling system in good condition, is beneficial for the water pump as well, and if there is visible cooling system deterioration, we are likely to spot it during the radiator flush. So it’s a good preventive maintenance procedure that can save your vehicle from serious problems.
