Fremont Auto Repair

I was unfortunate enough to have my catalytic converter stolen. I took my car to Fremont Auto Center after calling to see if they did that kind of repair. I was helped by both Martin and Sal and appreciated their responses and updates once my insurance approved the repairs. Since my car was already in the shop, I requested an oil change as well as a check of my car. They accommodated and completed other repairs they recommended and I approved. I have my car back now and it’s running fairly smoothly considering the situation and my insurance approving only an after-market part. Overall, I am really happy I took my car to Fremont Auto Center. My normal mechanic recently closed up shop after 35 years and I needed to find a new mechanic anyway. I will definitely be taking my car to Fremont Auto Center for future car service needs.

I love Sal. He is a master mechanic who is dedicated to his apprentices who really respect him. Sal is as honest as the day is long.

1. Sal is very transparent, one thing I really care about when it comes to auto repair. 2. Normal course of action is to book an appointment but there have been times when I needed an urgent check of my car and Sal was very kind enough to ask me to bring it in. 3. After an initial inspection, his team would give an itemized list of whatever is needed for your vehicle with a clear breakout of labor vs parts. It is sent electronically and you can approve / decline individual items from the list. Only once you decide they start working on your vehicle. 4. Sal would also explain the issue in a way that is easy to understand.

Sal does a great as always. He trouble shouted a noise and found a loose screw from some bodywork I had done a while back. My car was in for regular maintenance and he fixed that problem as well. Sal is a wizard when it comes to cars.

I’m very pleased with my first visit. I felt comfortable there which is important as a single woman who knows little about cars. They seemed honest and reliable and I feel like I can trust this place going forward! Loved the prompt correspondence via text and email as they worked on my car, along with the pictures of the various things being referred to on my car.
