I highly recommend Sal at Fremont Auto Center and here's why.... I had a vehicle that wouldn't start, wouldn't run, nor could I get it smogged - I actually thought I might need to replace my engine. Of course spending thousands of dollars to replace or rebuild an engine doesn't make sense for most people. So expecting the worst, I called around to several shops explaining all the issues to each. Most shops stopped listening after a while - my list was long. Sal was the only person that actually listened to each issue. He explained possible causes and provided specific remediation steps for each - and none of them included replacing the engine thank god! After meeting with Sal in person and reviewing his findings, I knew I had found the right place. It wasn't long before Sal got the engine running perfectly and even saved me a trip and got the vehicle smogged for me. Sal also listed all the additional things he found and pointed out which issues should be looked at and when. Absolutely no pressure to get everything done now thus costing the customer thousands right away. About a week after getting my car back I received a follow-up call from Sal asking how it was running and if I had any questions - that's what I call customer service. Sal's integrity and honest approach to vehicle maintenance and repair is a rare commodity in this industry. Took my 69 chevelle there. My breaks went out and I was expecting a very costly repair. Sal was very honest and extremely reasonable with his price. In fact, I wanted to do more things to it, but he recommended I take it home and drive it first. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He will be my mechanic going forward.

For me to write a review on Yelp, the place has to really leave an impression on me. Sometimes, it's good, sometimes not. I'm happy to report that my experience here was outstanding. First off, I'm extremely uneasy handing my car keys to someone. I've always changed my own oil in my vehicles since I started driving. However, since I recently moved here and don't have any tools handy, I had to take it somewhere. I'm glad I found this place. Hossein is knowledgeable, professional, and polite. I was able to see what he was doing, which is something that I hate about bigger places that take your car somewhere and you have no clue what they're up to. He made quick work of the oil change, but did it well, the way my dad taught me. He also checked the tire pressure, brake pads and all the fluids under the hood. While I'm good about maintaining my vehicle, it's nice to have a professional verify that everything is on the up and up. The price was very reasonable, and I was in and out pretty quickly. I've found my mechanic.
